Why Mill Creek Skin & Laser Center?
Dr. Lin has had extensive training in the use of dermal fillers and incorporates advanced techniques to achieve the best and most long lasting results. With Dr. Lin, patience and preciseness are key. He will base his treatment plan on your expectations and whether other treatments like BOTOX® will be utilized to compliment the effects.
What is the difference between Restylane® & Perlane®?
Perlane is composed of larger gel particles. It is intended for deeper injection than Restylane to volumize skin for structural support and lift. Dr. Lin will determine which treatment is right for you.
How long does Restylane® & Perlane® last?
Restylane® and Perlane® are proven to deliver long-lasting results. Studies have shown that Restylane lasts about six months. Perlane lasts at least six months in a majority of patients. The patented stabilization technology helps maintain the cosmetic effect for those time periods. How long the aesthetic correction lasts is very individual.
Restylane® and Perlane® require no pre-testing. Before being treated with Restylane and Perlane you should take a few precautions. Prior to treatment, avoid using aspirin, non-steroidal anti-inflammatory medications, St. John’s wort, or high doses of Vitamin E supplements.
What can I expect?
Restylane® and Perlane® are injected directly into the skin in small amounts by an ultrafine needle. As with all injections, some patients may experience discomfort. To increase your comfort, Dr. Lin will assess your need for pain management and determine what technique is right for you.
Are Restylane® & Perlane® safe?
Restylane® and Perlane® have well-defined safety profiles. Restylane has been used in over 1.4 million treatments in the U.S. and is available in more than 70 countries. It is the most studied cosmetic dermal filler in the world with dozens of publications in the medical literature. Clinical studies have shown no significant differences in the safety of Restylane and Perlane.
Restylane and Perlane contain no animal proteins. This limits the risk of animal-based disease transmission or allergic reactions. Restylane and Perlane contain trace amounts of gram-positive bacterial proteins and are contraindicated for patients with a history of allergies to such material. No allergy testing is required before use.
