How FoLix Works

FoLix is the first FDA-cleared fractional laser specifically designed for the treatment of hair loss and improvement in scalp hair appearance.
Manufactured by Lumenis, this non-invasive, in-office procedure stimulates dormant hair follicles and promotes natural hair growth—without chemicals, needles, or surgery.

Technology: FLX Fractional Laser

FoLix uses a patented fractional laser technology known as FLX, which promotes cellular rejuvenation through targeted microbeams of energy.

Here’s how it works:
• Stimulates natural healing: The laser’s micro-beams deliver energy deep into the dermal layer of the scalp, creating tiny thermal zones. This activates the body’s natural healing response to rejuvenate tissue from within.

Who Is a Candidate for FoLix?

What to Expect from Treatment

Procedure:
Each session takes about 30 minutes. Your provider will use a specialized FoLiCool handpiece, designed for comfort and cooling during treatment. You may feel a mild warmth or tingling sensation.

Sessions Required:
A typical series includes 4–6 monthly treatments, with maintenance sessions 2–3 times per year to sustain results.

Downtime:
There is no downtime. You can resume your normal activities immediately after treatment.

Results:
Some patients notice reduced shedding and new growth after just a few sessions, though full results develop gradually as the natural hair cycle progresses.

What is Ellacor® With Micro-Coring Technology?

Ellacor® is a minimally invasive procedure that uses hollow needles to remove tiny cores of skin. This technique, called micro-coring, stimulates the skin’s natural healing process and tightens loose or sagging skin. It Is FDA-cleared to treat moderate-to-severe wrinkles and skin laxity in the mid and lower face. Ellacor® provides natural-looking results with minimal downtime.

Ellacor® is an efficient option for non-surgical skin tightening. For optimal results, Dr. Lin recommends a combination of injectables and laser along with Ellacor® to get the best of a modern-day non-surgical facelift. Each scale will vary from patient to patient depending on their skin severity and goals.

How Does Ellacor® Work?

Ellacor® removes up to 8% of excess skin by using hollow needles to remove full-thickness micro-cores of dermal and epidermal tissue. The hollow needles precisely remove minuscule amounts of excess skin, which is less than half a millimeter in diameter. The cores are so tiny that it is intended to be scarless. Micro-coring promotes skin tightening by removing a small percentage of skin which triggers our body’s natural healing response to boost the production of collagen resulting in a smoother appearance in the skin.

Most patients need 2 to 3 procedures for optimal results and can take 3 to 6 months from your final treatment for full results to develop.

How is Ellacor® Different?

Ellacor® is the first non-surgical skin tightening device that uses small needles to remove micro-portions of skin without evidence of scarring. After the skin is removed, our body’s natural healing response quickly closes the cores, resulting in an improved appearance. It addresses moderate to severe skin sagging, whereas other skin revitalization devices use heat generated by laser, radio frequency, and ultrasound energy to induce intentional thermal injury to the skin, which can help target more moderate skin sagging versus severe skin sagging.

What to Expect:

As every patient has different needs, most people undergo a series of three procedures spaced approximately 30 days apart. This non-surgical skin tightening procedure typically takes about 90 minutes or less to perform.

On the day of your procedure, you will receive a local anesthetic to the treated area to help you stay comfortable during the procedure. Most patients in our clinical trial reported pain during the procedure from a 2 to 3 on a 0-10 scale. Once your skin is numb, your provider will strategically place the Ellacor® non-surgical wrinkle reduction device on your skin to create micro-cores in a precise grid pattern. Excess skin will be removed through hollow needles, but the micro-cores are so tiny that they will begin to heal almost immediately.

Recovery time ranges from a few days to weeks, which can vary by patient and treatment settings. Since every patient heals at different rates, patient results and experience may vary. Ellacor® results are long-lasting, but because skin aging continues, you’ll need occasional follow-up sessions to maintain them. How soon you’ll need a maintenance treatment will depend on your age, skin quality, and lifestyle factors like your skincare routine, how well you stay out of the sun, and whether you smoke will help to prolong the benefits.

Ellacor® Pain Management

Before getting the treatment, Dr. Lin may provide Aspirin and Tylenol to manage pain before and after the procedure. Topical numbing cream along with a local anesthetic may also be used on the treatment area to reduce discomfort. Most patients report pain levels from 2 to 3 on a scale from 0 to 10.

• Botox®: is a neurotoxin that temporarily relaxes muscle movement that which helps to treat and prevent our muscles from further creasing which causes frown lines and other facial wrinkles. Patients notice results in as littles as a few days to 2 weeks. Botox will on average last 3-4 months.
• Juvederm®: is a hyaluronic acid-based filler that restores and refills areas that have volume loss. It is a nonsurgical cosmetic procedure that lifts, plumps, and adds definition. Patients notice results immediately and will last on overage 1-2 years.
• Liquid Facelift®: With the combination of Botox and Filler, Dr. Lin can target fine lines, wrinkles, and volume loss directly with the injectables. Dr. Lin’s method not only restores your triangle of youth by lifting but also creates a total “liquid facelift” effect.

Many injectors can soften wrinkles, filling fine lines and sagging skin.
Dr. Lin can mimic a noninvasive face lift without having to go under the knife, by assessing your entire face from your forehead to your neck, to lift and reverse the inverted triangle.

Laser treatments:

Different lasers achieve different results. Laser treatments are a light amplification by stimulated emissions of radiation. Lasers take certain chemical compounds that stimulates electrons that disperses energy to treat and target concerns. When addressing sagging skin, fine lines, and wrinkles with lasers, you want to focus on lasers that address skin elasticity and overall collagen production.
