EMSELLA®
EMSELLA ® is a non-invasive procedure that utilizes high-intensity focused electromagnetic technology (HIFEM) to stimulate, strengthen, and restore neuromuscular control to the deep pelvic floor muscles. One single EMSELLA® session brings thousands of supramaximal muscle contractions to the area and is equivalent to 12,000 Kegels; this exercise helps to retrain the muscles that may have become lax over time due to pregnancy or childbirth. Treatment also strengthens the pelvic floor sufficiently to correct pelvic prolapse and repair vaginal laxity.
EMSELLA® Key Benefits
- FDA cleared to treat all genders
- Strengthens the pelvic floor to aid incontinence, and pelvic prolapse, and repair vaginal laxity
- Equivalent to 12,000 Kegels in only 30 minutes
- Initial treatment results last 9 to 12 months
How Does EMSELLA® Work?
The EMSELLA® procedure is quick and only lasts about 30 minutes. During the appointment, patients remain fully clothed. There is no pain, but patients may feel a tingling sensation during the treatment. For full results, it is recommended that patients receive six treatments done twice a week and sometimes maintenance sessions three or six months after the initial treatment.
Recovery and Results
No downtime is associated with the EMSELLA® procedure so that patients may return to normal activities after their treatment session. EMSELLA® results can sometimes be noticeable immediately; however, the results will continue to improve over time. The effects of the initial six-session treatment can last between nine and 12 months and can be maintained with the following touch-up treatments.
