Spider Veins

Are you ready to show your face without having to camouflage those unsightly spider veins? Are you ready to wear skirts, shorts, and swimming apparel without feeling embarrassed by the prominent branching spider veins visible on your thighs and legs? Let’s face it, no one likes spider veins.

Our special laser targets the vascular blood vessels. The heat generated from the laser shrinks the blood vessels causing them to collapse and seal. Over the next few weeks, the vessels will diminish. Our laser spider view removal treatment delivers the precise amount of energy to each individual blood vessel and provides contact cooling for protection of the surrounding skin tissue.

Spider Vein Removal Benefits

  • Laser is an excellent option for the treatment of spider veins
  • Can treat any vascular spots (e.g. cherry angiomas)
  • Safe, fast, and effective
  • Non-invasive, chemical-free
  • No needles or incisions
  • Minimal discomfort

Spider veins are very common in adults and are typically visible on the face or legs. A number of factors predispose a person to spider veins including:

Aging
Genetics
Hormone therapy
Pregnancy
Sun exposure
Trauma or injury to the skin
Use of oral contraceptives
Occupations that require a lot of standing
Unknown reasons

Spider veins are small clusters of tiny blood vessels that develop closer to the surface of the skin. They are often red or blue and have short jagged lines, comparable to a tree branch or a spider web. Spider veins can be found on both the legs and the face, which are easily treatable with laser therapy.

Varicose veins tend to appear on the legs and are abnormally bulging in nature. At Mill Creek Skin & Laser Center we only treat spider veins. Varicose veins would need to be treated by a vascular specialist.

Sclerotherapy involves needles and a chemical that is injected into your body. Not everyone enjoys getting poked with needles; it can be painful and there is the possibility of an allergic reaction to the actual chemical. You’ll have to wear compression hose (and they are expensive) for up to 6 weeks after sclerotherapy.

Generally, no recovery time is needed with sclerotherapy; however, you may need anywhere from one to several treatments. Sclerotherapy does come with a host of side effects and some complications. We do not perform sclerotherapy at Mill Creek Skin & Laser Center.

Laser vein removal treatment is very precise and more effectively targets smaller areas and finer veins than is usual in sclerotherapy. Laser vein removal treatment is ideal for those veins not suitable for sclerotherapy or for patients with a needle phobia or have an allergy to sclerotherapy agents. Laser vein removal is fast and safe with minimal discomfort. There is little downtime and side effects are minimal. You’ll need to protect the areas treated from sun exposure.
