Kybella®
NO DOUBLE CHIN SURGERY
A double chin (medically known as submental fullness) is a common yet under treated issue that affects facial symmetry. It is caused by an accumulation of fat in the front of the neck and just under the chin, making a person look older and heavier. Submental fullness affects men and women of all ages, and can be influenced by factors such as aging, genetics and weight gain. Unfortunately, double chins are extremely resistant to diet and exercise.
Now there is Kybella—the first and only FDA approved double chin injection drug that safely and effectively reduces excess fat under the chin, leaving a smooth and contoured jawline without the necessary recovery time of another double chin fat reduction like liposuction or double chin surgery.

How Kybella Double Chin Reduction Works
The active ingredient in Kybella double chin injection is identical to deoxycholic acid which is a naturally occurring molecule in the body that aids in the breakdown and absorption of dietary fat. When the double chin injection is injected into the fat beneath your chin, Kybella causes the destruction of fat cells. The cells die and are absorbed by your body for reduction.

Kybella double chin reduction does not require any recovery time or downtime; most patients can return to their normal activities immediately.
Patients may experience different degrees of swelling as the fat is being dissolved, which is a normal part of the healing process.
There may also be some slight discomfort, erythema (redness) or bruising for a brief period after the double chin injection, which should resolve relatively quickly.
Kybella double chin injection destroys fat cells. Once the aesthetic response is achieved you will not need to be treated with Kybella again.
This will depend on the amount of submental fat you need to lose and your desired chin result. Because everyone is different, a custom double chin treatment plan is tailored for each individual patient.
Many patients will experience visible contouring of their chin profile in 2 to 4 treatments, however some people may require up to 6 treatments in order to achieve desired results. Double chin reduction treatment sessions are spaced about a month apart.
The most common side effects seen with Kybella double chin reduction include bruising, pain, numbness, swelling at the injection site, redness and areas of hardness in the treatment area. These side effects will dissipate gradually.
