Sebacia

Acne can be frustrating and affect your self-esteem. The sebaceous glands create oil to lubricate and protect your skin, but excess oil can clog pores. Acne occurs when bacteria get trapped in the blocked pores.

While there are many methods available to kill bacteria and clear pores, Mill Creek Skin & Laser Center is always looking for better and more effective treatments. We are the first and only practice to offer this revolutionary new acne treatment. Sebacia clears skin from the inside out.

Benefits

  • Non-invasive
  • No anesthesia or downtime
  • FDA approved

Ideal Candidates

Ideal candidates for treatment with Sebacia are in good general health and are concerned about stubborn mild to moderate acne. You may be a good candidate if you identify with the following:

  • Mild to moderate pimples or blemishes
  • Acne that has not responded to medications or topical treatments
  • A desire to simplify your skincare routine

Your candidacy for this procedure will be determined during a consultation. We will conduct a thorough evaluation of your skin to develop a treatment plan that is right for you.

Procedure

First, your face will be cleansed to remove any trace of dirt, oil, or makeup, and the gold microparticles will be massaged into your pores. Any excess microparticle solution will be cleaned, and your skin will be cooled with ice packs or chilled air for your comfort. Then the laser will be passed over your skin to heat the gold particles. This action causes the sebaceous glands to reduce their production of oil.

Sebacia treatment is performed in a series of three sessions over 14 days. One treatment session takes approximately 30 minutes to complete.

Recovery and Results

There is no downtime required after your treatment. You may experience some temporary skin redness that should dissipate in 30 minutes to one hour.

Your final results may take up to two months to appear. However, once your series of treatments is completed, you should not have to undergo another round of Sebacia treatments for at least one year.
