Procedure
CoolSculpting® Elite allows us to treat two areas of the body at the same time. There are seven different applicators to choose from, so treatments can be tailored to your specific body type depending on your body goals.
As the name suggests, the CoolSculpting® Elite procedure can be a little chilly. Controlled cooling is delivered via an applicator to freeze the targeted fat. Though you may feel intense cold initially, this feeling usually subsides within five to 10 minutes as the area numbs. Because most applicators use a vacuum to draw fatty tissue into the applicator cup, you may also feel some pulling, tugging, or mild pinching.
A gel pad is placed on the target site to protect your skin. Suction is used to draw the tissue into the applicator cup. The device then delivers controlled cooling to the treatment area. Your CoolSculpting® Elite session can take 35, 45, or 75-minutes to complete, depending on the area(s) being treated. Once the treatment is complete, the device will be removed, and the area will be massaged to maximize results.
Recovery and Results
After your treatment, you may experience some redness, swelling, tenderness, and bruising in the treated area. Total resolution of these symptoms usually takes a few days, but it may last a couple of weeks.
Numbness or tingling at the site is common, but these side effects should resolve within several weeks. Recovery time is minimal, and you are able to return to your normal activities immediately after the procedure.
On rare occasions, a small percentage of patients experience pain after the procedure. This sensation should subside within one to two weeks. However, our doctor can be reached for pain management options.
Many patients will see their CoolSculpting® Elite results as quickly as three weeks after treatment, but the most dramatic results typically appear within two to three months. The body will continue to process the fat cells for four to six months.
